Kirk Braunius has eighteen years of actuarial experience.  He graduated summa cum laude from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics.  Kirk is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and has credit for four parts of the Casualty Actuarial Society exams in pursuit of a Fellowship Designation.  His prior experience includes twelve years as a pension consultant with Coopers & Lybrand and Kwasha Lipton and one year in property and casualty reinsurance with Prudential Reinsurance

Experience:

  • Assistance with loss and loss expense reserve studies for insurers and self-insured entities
  • Review of property and casualty rate filings
  • Assistance with financial examinations of HMOs by state regulatory authorities, including the review of claims unpaid and unpaid claims adjustment expense liabilities, aggregate health policy reserves, and aggregate health claims reserves
  • Supervision of all aspects of defined benefit pension plan consulting, including actuarial valuations, government filings and benefit certifications
  • Actuarial analysis and pricing of prepaid guaranteed tuition programs for several states
  • Collection and analysis of property and casualty reinsurance data
  • Preparation of results of loss reserve studies for management
