Rutledge Capers has eighteen years of experience as an actuarial analyst.  He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics.

Experience:

  • Assistance on state insurance department triennial and target financial examinations, involved in reconciliation and compliance issues
  • Assistance in the development of reserving models for many lines of business, incorporating methods and techniques such as Chain Ladder reserving, Bornhuetter-Ferguson reserving, loss and premium trending, frequency and severity analysis, pure premium rate making, and interpolation
  • Development of claims-made and tail factors
  • Development of computer programs to sort and analyze individual claim data for pricing and reserve studies
  • Preparation of competitive rate analyses
  • Assistance with regulatory compliance issues, which concerns rate filings
  • Assistance on the development of actuarial reports and statements of opinion for various insurance companies, captives, and self-insured entities
  • Assistance on the development of rate structures and rates for captives and risk retention groups
  • Assistance on the review of rate filings for state insurance departments
  • Preparation of competitive rate analyses
